Medical Missions
Refuge International currently has medical missions traveling to San Raymundo, Chocola and Sarstun, Guatemala. There are a total of six to seven medical missions a year with varying group sizes.
The cost of all mission trips is $750. Students' fees are $700. For the San Raymundo Mission teams, this includes one night's stay in Antigua at the end of the trip. Staying an additional night in Antigua after the San Raymundo trips only, will cost an additional $75. For the San Raymundo teams only, please note on the application if you will be staying one night or two.
Our trips fill up quickly. Please submit your application early to assure your spot on one of our teams.
Reserving Your Place
Please note that there are a limited number of spaces available on each trip and that volunteers will be accepted in the order they are received.
The following are required for reserving your place on a Refuge Medical Mission Trip:
- Online registration: make sure you note the location and the date of the trip
- Waiver and Consent Form
- Copy of current passport
- Copy of your professional license if applicable
- Copy of your airline travel itinerary (you are required to handle your own airfare - please note, designated flights for your trip can be found on the page related to each location)
- Fee of $750 (for students enrolled in school, the fee is $700), which covers in-country travel, food and lodging. A nonrefundable $100 deposit is required with your application; the remaining balance as well as all other required information is due 30 days prior to departure date. T-shirts and travel packet will be sent to you when the balance is paid.
Once your deposit is received, you will be assigned a volunteer ID number. This is an important component to the Change the World Program we ask our volunteers to participate in. Please review this information as well and let us know if you have any questions.
